Alex Pettyfer has been cast in Lee Daniels’s upcoming film The Butler.
The Butler tells the story of a White House butler named Eugene Allen (Forest Whitaker), who served eight presidents for three decades.
Pettyfer will play Thomas Westphall, a man who has an impact on Allen’s life, reports Deadline.
The Butler also features a star-studded cast that includes Oprah Winfrey, Jane Fonda, Alan Rickman, Matthew McConaughey, John Cusack, Lenny Kravitz, Terrence Howard, Minka Kelly, David Oyelowo and Cuba Gooding Jr.
Kelly is set to portray Jackie Kennedy opposite McConaughey as John F Kennedy, while Rickman and Fonda are Ronald and Nancy Reagan, and Cusack is Richard Nixon.
Daniels, who was nominated for a ‘Best Director’ Oscar for Precious, premiered his third film The Paperboy at this year’s Cannes on May 24, also featuring Cusack and McConaughey.
